The Hellenic-French Association of Chania presents a peculiar photography exhibition titled: “A glance at the 21 through the art of gastronomy”, at the Center of Mediterranean Architecture in Chania.
Chef Iosif Petrof created pictures of gastronomic art (non recipies), inspired by a poetical text by Stella Koutsoupaki concerning the Revolution of 1821. 21 artistic creations have been photographed by Diogenis Papadopoulos and set up in a “military formation”. A narration of the essay translated into 2 languages (Greek, French) with background music complements the photography. The music was composed especially for the exhibition by the composer and pianist Panos Giambouldakis, and the exhibition curator is Myrto Kontomitaki, Museologist – Art Historian.
The exhibition is co-organized by the Region of Crete – Regional Unit of Chania, the Municipality of Chania and KEPPEDIH – CAM (the cultural organization of Chania), and is under the auspices of the “Greece 2021″ Committee, the Embassy of France in Greece and the French Institute of Greece.
Exhibition duration: June 16 to 27, 2021
