The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Humanities (MBZUH) of the United Arab Emirates signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday 9 February 2024. The MoU was signed by the Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Charalambos Fidas, and Dr. Karima Matar AlMazrouei, as representative of MBZUH University of the United Arab Emirates.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place in the Senate Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the presence of Prince Mohamed Rashid Al Hameli and Chairman of the Board of Directors of MBZUH, while the President of the Department of Theology, Professor Nikolaos Maggioros, and Professor Angeliki Ziaka of the Department of Theology participated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The Memorandum provides for academic, educational and research cooperation between the two institutions in fields of common interest in the humanities and social sciences, such as theology, religion, culture and language. It also provides, inter alia, for the exchange of teachers and students, the organisation of conferences, scientific and cultural events, seminars and summer schools on subjects of mutual interest.
