Zoological Museum of the University of Patras
The Zoological Museum of the University of Patras was founded in 1973 and today it is housed on the ground floor of the Biology/Mathematics building of the University. It has a) an exhibition for the education of students and visits from the general public, promoting knowledge, environmental awareness and the connection of the University with local society, b) a scientific collection for research purposes. The exhibition presents around 800 exhibits of animals in cases, dioramas etc. while the scientific collection comprises more than 10,000 conserved specimens of amphibians, reptiles and mammals.
