The French Institute of Greece and the Basil & Eliza Goulandris Foundation are delighted to announce that French artist Céleste Rogosin has been selected to participate in the first artist-in-residence program to be held at the Foundation’s Museum of Contemporary Art in Andros.

The two organizations have joined forces once again and launched a new partnership aimed at providing opportunities to French artists, or individuals based in France who are active in the visual arts—particularly photography or painting— the opportunity to conduct research and create on the island of Andros, in an environment that fosters the development of new artistic practices and dialogue between the French and Greek art scenes.

The jury included Fleurette Karadonti, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Basil & Eliza Goulandris Foundation; art historian, Honorary General Conservator of Cultural Heritage and former Director of the National Museum of Modern Art – Centre Pompidou, Alfred Pacquement, Aude Raimbault, Curator of Collections at the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, as well as Giorgos Rorris, painter and the first fellow of the B&E Goulandris Foundation. The committee was chaired by Laurence Auer, French Ambassador to Greece.

Céleste Rogosin lives and works in Paris. She is a visual artist who grew up in Maine-et-Loire, where she specialized in the intersection of the performing arts (dance, theater) and film. Over time, her interest has focused on a hybrid field, combining video art with installations. Her work explores the representation of the body in space in the age of modern technologies, a theme she continues to develop through her participation in residency programs—including at the Pinault Collection in Lens—as well as with the support of institutions such as CNAP, Grand Paris, and others. In 2024, she received support from the Fondation des Artistes (Artists’ Foundation) and the CNC (National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image). In 2025, she presented her first solo exhibition at Frac Grand Large, and in 2026, she was one of the artists to receive the Schneider Foundation’s Talent contemporain (Contemporary Talent) award.

The artist residency program will take place from September 25 to October 25, 2026, in Andros. Céleste Rogosin will have at her disposal a specially designed studio and living quarters provided by the Foundation, as well as personalized support from the two partner organizations, tailored to the needs of her creative work.

Through this initiative, the French Institute of Greece and the Basil & Eliza Goulandris Foundation reaffirm their commitment to supporting contemporary artistic creation, fostering artists’ mobility, and promoting cultural exchanges between France and Greece.
