Description

The Postgraduate Studies Programme “International and European Energy Law” aims at scientific training and in-depth analysis in the fields of International and European Energy Law.

The learning outcomes and qualifications acquired from the successful completion of the programme are the comprehensive and meticulous study in the fields of energy law under the perspective of International and European regulation, through the doctrinal approach, the interpretation of the relevant legal rules, the jurisprudential analysis and the comparative study of the abovementioned legal fields.

During the courses, legal issues at the level of international and EU energy law are highlighted. Legal issues involving other areas of law, such as administrative, commercial and civil law, are also examined, while the findings of the case law of International judicial bodies and of the Court of Justice of the EU are correlated with the findings of national courts.

At the same time, the implementation and integration of supranational regulation into the Greek legal order, through an analytical presentation of practical examples from case law, but also from the practical experience of the teachers is achieved. Thus, the Postgraduate Students receive a first practical experience, which will form the basis for their subsequent scientific and/or professional activity in the energy sector.

The programme is structured into three (3) academic semesters, of which the first two are teaching semesters. Students must attend and be examined in four (4) courses per teaching semester (A and B). In the third semester, students prepare and defend a 15,000-word Master’s Thesis, presenting and orally justifying their written research in front of an academic committee

The final selection of candidates is based on objective criteria related to the candidates’ studies and their professional experience. All necessary documents constitute the candidate’s file (90% of the final grading), while final selection procedure is completed after the candidates’ interview (10% of the final grading).

Postgraduate students may receive scholarships from national or international bodies and institutions or from co-financed programmes.

The courses are held each semester at a rate of eighty-five percent (85%) remotely and at a rate of fifteen percent (15%) in person.

The tuition fees for the postgraduate programme amount to a total of two thousand and five hundred euros (2500 euros)
