With a particularly rich and mature programme, including over 70 thematic discussions and presentations with more than 120 speakers from 17 countries, as well as performances, translation, educational and creative writing workshops, theatre events, concerts, guided tours of exhibitions, etc., around the central theme of “Europe, past and future. Glances at literature, culture, politics”, the 3rd Chania Book Festival (CBF) will take place from Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 June, by the Municipality of Chania in co-organization with the Region of Crete.
The 3rd Chania Book Festival will take place, as in the two previous years, with the Venetian Harbour of the city as the focal point, between the Centre for Mediterranean Architecture (C.M.A.-Great Arsenal) and the “Mikis Theodorakis” Theatre. In addition, however, new spaces are being added this year: the fully renovated hall of the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre (“Hall 2” – Entrance from the square on the side of the Neoria), the Maritime Museum of Crete (Moro Neorio), an emblematic landmark of Chania where the Permanent Exhibition of Ancient and Traditional Shipbuilding is housed, The Cultural Centre of Chania, but also an original, variable, multifunctional space, the Mobile Urban Living Room (MULaR) of the Municipality of Chania, which will be located in Katehaki Square (between C.M.A. – Theatre “M. Theodorakis”).
