The creativity of the students, the value of multilingualism, and the power of stories to bring together languages, people, and cultures will be the focus of the 3rd Multilingual Kamishibaï (paper theater) Festival, organized by the Pluralités Research Group of the Department of French Language and Literature at Aristotle University, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the “Manolis Anagnostakis” Hall at Thessaloniki City Hall.

The Festival marks the culmination of the 2025–2026 Multilingual Kamishibai Contest. As part of this initiative, students were invited last year to collaborate with their teachers to create stories on the theme “When I Close My Eyes…,” using the art of Kamishibaï as a creative medium for expression, storytelling, and communication in more than one language.

A total of 140 schools of all levels from different regions of the country participated in the contest, and the 21 award-winning schools will attend the Festival, where they will have the opportunity to present the stories they created.

The event is open to the public and is aimed at educators at all levels, students, and researchers.
