With the work of Alexandros Rizos Ragavis “Koutroulis’s Wedding” – a milestone in the history of modern Greek theater – masterfully written according to the standards of aristophanean comedies, the theatre organization Thespis’s Wagon of Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre continues for the eighth year its cultural journey in Patras and the wider area of Southwest Greece.

The show, included in the events of the Patras International Festival, will be staged at 9.30 pm on Friday, July 28 at the Municipal Summer Theater of Ritsou Street. Director-Adaptation by Christos Strepkos, Set and Costumes design by Kenny McLellan, Music by Vasilis Tzitzias, Lighting by Loukas Thanos.

Synopsis

A tailor, Manolis Koutroulis, falls in love with Anthousa, the daughter of a middle-class family, but she only has eyes for Leonidas, a young policeman. To avoid the prospective groom without opposing her father, Anthousa says that she will marry the illiterate Koutroulis on condition that he becomes a minister of state.
