Description

The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences, of AUTH in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the International Hellenic University (IHU) announces 55 positions for postgraduate students for the academic year 2025-2026 in the Interinstitutional Postgraduate Program of Studies “Applied Gerontology and Geriatrics.”

 

Categories of admitted candidates

 In the Intercollegiate Postgraduate Program titled “Applied Gerontology and Geriatrics,” graduates of University Departments of Health Sciences and other related fields are accepted. Graduates of the former Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) Departments are also accepted.

  1. More specifically, graduates of the Departments of Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and all their former names (such as Medical Laboratories) are accepted. Also, graduates of Departments related to Health Sciences, such as Social Work, Sociology, and Psychology, as well as graduates of related fields to the above categories, upon a justified decision of the Academic Committee (E.D.E.), are accepted.
  2. Students who are about to graduate from the aforementioned departments can submit a candidacy for the Intercollegiate Postgraduate Program, provided that they have graduated before the approval of the final list of admitted candidates.

 

Number of admissions

The annual number of admissions is set at a maximum of fifty-five (55) postgraduate students.

 For the application, the following documents are required:
a) Application: found on the website https://www.med.auth.gr -> POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS
b) Copy of diploma or diplomas from a Greek university or TEI of a related department and a certificate of equivalence from DOATAP, in the case of graduates of foreign universities.
c) Academic transcript with detailed grades of all undergraduate courses, including the degree grade.
d) Curriculum vitae detailing the candidate’s studies, teaching and/or professional experience, scientific and social activity.
e) Statement describing the candidate’s scientific interests and the reasons for their interest in undertaking studies in the Postgraduate Program.
f) Certificate of “good” knowledge of the English language (as standardized in ASEP announcements). If knowledge of a second foreign language exists, the corresponding certificate must also be submitted. For Slavic languages, a certificate from IMXA or a degree from a recognized institution is submitted. Foreign nationals must submit a certificate of proficiency in the Greek language from a Modern Greek Language School of a University. If they are graduates of a Greek-speaking University Department, their degree serves as a certificate of Greek language proficiency.
g) Proof of any research and writing activity, participation in student mobility educational programs, as well as professional experience related to the field of specialization.
h) Photocopy of the police identity card.

If the number of applications is not met, the application period will be automatically extended.

 

Tuition and Fees

The total tuition fees for the Postgraduate Program amount to 3,000 euros per postgraduate student. Payment of the tuition fees can be made either in full or in three (3) equal installments: the first at enrollment, the second before the start of the second semester, and the third before the start of the third semester, into a bank account maintained by the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE-AUTH).
