The Steering Committee of the Hellenic Open University unanimously decided to approve the award of five scholarships for the attendance of Thematic Units in the Undergraduate, Special and Postgraduate Programmes of Studies to residents of small islands of the Greek border per academic year.

With the above decision and taking into account the difficult economic conditions, the HOU Administration emphasizes the social character of the University, which has as its main goal and purpose the right of access to Higher Education Programmes of Study to citizens of the country who, for whatever reason, did not have the opportunity to study at a conventional university subsequently did not have the option to continue their studies at postgraduate and/or doctoral
level, by participating in the costs of their studies.
