MYSTERY 127 HORSES IN LOVE | 1 JUNE
Horses in Love, the third part of a trilogy titled The Other Normal, was created after many months of research. It is a paean of a performance that pays tribute to uninhibited vitality, and to all the senses that have been barricaded in by a strictly rationalistic view of life. It overcomes social barriers in order to talk about the non-rational, the forbidden and the imagination, about the soul that insists on questing after all-consuming, requited love.
MYSTERY 32 OPEN ELEUSIS | 1, 10, 11, 18 JUNE
The workshop “Elefsina narrates its memories” aims to create a group on the city’s oral history, where participants will be introduced to oral history and will be taught interview techniques in order to create an audiovisual archive of oral testimonies by the residents. The group will have access to all the necessary technical means for the audiovisual recording of the interviews.
MYSTERY 134 PERSEPHONE, THE RED CARPET | 1 – 28 JUNE
A work of urban scenography and social art: the red carpet updates the myth of Persephone with its mystical appearance-disappearance and the ritual of its movements as the participants take it from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. Actions will follow each transition at the place of arrival.
MYSTERY 37 VOICES OF ELEFSINA | 1-29 JUNE
Mystery 37 Voices of Elefsina is a participatory activity during which the city’s residents create a radio station and an artistic peripatetic installation in the form of a radio walk. The first educational workshops will take place in May and June, while every Thursday the studio of the radio station, in the Old Railway Station, will be open to the public and will host a series of discussions, talks and screenings on radio-related subjects.

Mystery 79 Beyond the Obvious Conference 2023 on “Handle with Care | Culture for Social Well-being” aims to collectively explore the importance of care as a moral and political obligation for our societies and the role that cultural practitioners can play in this. Applications for participation in the conference have been completed.
SYNIKISMOI – A FESTIVAL ^ | 9 – 28 JUNE
SYNIKISMOI – A Festival ^ sheds light on unknown aspects of various neighbourhoods in the city of Elefsina. Extending across more than one district at a time, it focuses on their different features, and on bringing various parts of the city together. It is a complex festival that includes the performing and visual arts, installations, in-situ performances, symposiums, and participatory initiatives, as well as other informal and unexpected modes of engagement.

Thirty-five emerging festival managers from all over the world will have the opportunity to spend seven days with a group of experienced festival leaders, cultural activists, cross-sector experts, and artists in Elefsina, where they will engage in a global conversation on culture.

This modular project develops in various parts of the city on two axes in parallel. It explores the artistʼs bond with the city of Elefsina through art in public space, artistic workshops, and the relationships she develops with certain people.
MYSTERY 59 U(R)TOPIAS ACADEMY OF CHOREOGRAPHY | 29 JUNE – 2 JULY
The second year of U(R)TOPIAS Academy of Choreography by Patricia Apergi and the contemporary dance group Aerites will conclude in June 2023 with a peripatetic site-specific performance.
MYSTERY 2 CLOCK TOWER VOICES | 30 JUNE
A series of original sound performances – readings of landmark Greek and world literature texts by eminent artists – feature in Mystery 2 Clock Tower Voices.
MYSTERY 65 REFRAME ELEUSIS | JUNE – OCTOBER
Mystery 65 Reframe Elefsina, a collective social action with an artistic, educational and research character, and invites young people aged 18 – 35 from Elefsina and the wider Attica region to participate in an educational program focused on photography and visual culture, so that, under the guidance of renowned lecturers, they will create original photographic works inspired by the Eleusinian site.
