In the context of celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821, the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Patras continues to organize open-air exhibitions as part of the project “Art in the city, art for the city”. Two exhibitions will be hosted in the South Park and on the Beach of Agyia, titled “Poetry and literature in 1821”. With this exhibition, the Cultural Organization attempts to unfold another aspect of the revolutionary struggle through the production of digitally printed images with text excerpts from “Thourios” and the revolutionary proclamation for “Human rights” by Rigas Feraios, ,”Memoirs” by  General Makrygiannis”, “Memoirs” by Theodoros Kolokotronis”, “The Free Besieged” by Dionysios Solomos and the poem “Ai Euchai” (“The Wishes”) by Andreas Kalvos.

From September 6 to December 31, the Municipal Library will host an exhibition titled “Achaia in the Revolution of 1821 – Α narration through documents of the Municipal Library”. This is an exhibition of works from the library archives, for which the possibility of digitization is being examined.
