The opening of the exhibition “Inspiration. Ancient Greek Art in Italy” at the Acropolis Museum by the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lina Mendoni, and the Italian Minister of Culture, Dr. Alessandro Giuli were held on Monday, 15 June 2026. The exhibition was curated by Dr. Alfonsina Russo, Director of Italy’s Directorate for the Valorization of Cultural Heritage (DiVa), and the Director General of the Acropolis Museum, Professor Nikolaos Chr. Stambolidis, together with Roberta Alteri and Alessio De Cristofaro.

The event was honored by the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Greece, Paolo Cuculi, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Ms. Olympia Vikatou, and was attended by prominent figures from the cultural sector as well as members of the Italian community in Athens.

The exhibition is open to the public with free admission from June 16, 2026, through August 30, 2026, during the museum’s hours of operation (Monday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–10 p.m., Saturday–Sunday 9 a.m.–8 p.m.). To enter the exhibition, visitors must pick up a free ticket from the museum’s ticket counters.

Starting Wednesday, June 17, 2026, weekly guided tours of the exhibition will begin for visitors. Information: www.theacropolismuseum.gr
