Stefanos Chytiris (drums), Ingrid Laubrock (saxophone) and Elias Stemeseder (piano) present a musical performance that explores the boundaries between musical compositions and the creation of multidimensional soundscapes. The three musicians met in New York, where they appeared in various venues. The performance they will present at Megaron is the trio’s first appearance in Europe and marks the beginning of a new path in their musical careers.

Chytiris grew up in Athens and played in Greece and New York, having studied and worked with Michael Carvin, who produced his first solo album “The Flux Project-PYR|N” (September 2014). Then he made the album “Egata” (March 2017) with seven musicians and in 2019 the piano duet titled “17 takes”.

Saxophone player and composer Ingrid Laubrock is German but lived several years in London, ad since 2008 she’s based in Brooklyn, New York. She has won many awardsDownbeat, BBC Jazz Award, the Art Foundation, SWR German Radio Jazz Prize, German Record Critics κ.ά. She has worked with Anthony Braxton, Muhal Richards Abrams, Dave Douglas, Kenny Wheeler, Jason Moran, Tim Berne, William Parker, Tom Rainey, Mary Halvorson, Kris Davis, Tyshawn Sorey, Craig Taborn, Luc Ex, Django Bates’ Human Chain.

Pianist Elias Stemeseder is Austrian, living between Berlin and New York. Since 2008 he’s a member of a trio with drummer Jim Black and Thomas Morgan playing double bass. He has worked with John Zorn, Greg Cohen, Philipp Gropper, Anna Webber, Robert Landfermann etc.
