Reigna Gallery by K presents a solo painting exhibition by Asterios Toris titled “Explosive Horizons,” curated by Yannis Kolokotronis, Professor of Art History and Theory in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace.
On Asterios Toris’ canvases, torrents of red, yellow, blue, black, and white course across the surface as forces of tension, conflict, and transformation. His works capture psychological and material horizons, where memory, gesture, and the fluidity of color compose a world in constant genesis.
Tori’s painting is spontaneous but not uncontrolled; torrential yet structured. The bursts of color, the dark clusters and material accumulations create images of existential tension, internal conflict, and cosmic scale. Under the weight of contemporary historical instability, the works can be read as fields of rupture and rebirth, without abandoning their deeply personal and experiential character.
In “Explosive Horizons,” Asterios Toris depicts the moment when the visible, the lived, and the inwardly sensed collide and take shape. His works convey a sense of energy that has not solidified, but continues to act even after the act of painting is complete.
