The Historical Archive – Museum of Hydra (IAMY) organizes and will host in August a large exhibition of works by the excellent Greek artist Fragiskos Doukakis.

As the visitor-viewer of the exhibition will have the opportunity to see, the range of Doukakis’ painting work unfolds spectacularly and in relief in this new work, entitled “My Hydra”. .

Starting from the imprinting of his drawings and colours up to the final finishing, the final presentation of his paintings, Francis Doukakis, a favourite, among others, student of the Hydra painter and academic Panagiotis Tetsis, once again signs the effort of a continuous and methodical search for his personal expression through his magic paintbrush, which this time captures “Hydra” special…

The wonderful and historical Hydra, but this time it is transferred to the canvas with another, completely personal view, the view of Francis Doukakis, who refracted and reinterpreted the landscape of the island and the surrounding seas through an inner dialogue with the very nature of the beautiful island landscape.

The Hydra of Doukakis seen through another landscape “frame”: magical sunsets, incomparable sunrises, rocks, sparkling seas, explosions of lines and colors, give again the pleasure to the excellent creator to exhibit this impressive visual ensemble in the Historical Archive-Museum of Hydra, the hospitable place that for many years was also the “outdoor studio” of his Master, P. Tetsis.

And of course, Frangiskos Doukakis dedicates his exhibition to his beloved Master, honoring exclusively this time his own birthplace!

The exhibition is curated by the art historian Iris Kritiko.
