On May 12, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., the Greek Evangelical Church of Athens (50 Amalias Ave., 10558 Athens) will host the international choral concert VOCES UNITATIS, bringing together distinguished ensembles from Greece and the United States.

The concert features the Texas Woman’s University Concert Choir (Denton, Texas), conducted by Joni Jensen, and the Kodály Conservatory Mixed Choir, conducted by Michalis Patsas. The program features a diverse repertoire of traditional songs, secular and sacred choral music, highlighting both the cultural diversity and the shared musical heritage of the peoples.

The highlight of the evening will be the performance of Nikos Skalkotas’s work “Karagouna,” in a symbolic collaboration that highlights music’s power to unite different cultural identities.

“Music has the power to unite people in times of joy as well as in turbulent times. That is why we created the VOCES UNITATIS concert series, through which bridges of communication are built between musicians of different nationalities and their audiences,” states the artistic director of the Festival of Three, Dr. Kevin Meidl.

The concert aims to foster cultural dialogue and artistic collaboration through choral music, highlighting the concept of unity in diversity.

Free admission – voluntary donations to support choral music.

ABOUT THE CHOIRS

The Kodály Conservatory Mixed Choir, founded in 1989 by conductor Michalis Patsas, has a distinguished artistic history and a broad repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary choral works, including both a cappella pieces and large-scale oratorios.

The Concert Choir of Texas Woman’s University (Denton, Texas) is the university’s premier choral ensemble and consists of 45 selected female voices, comprising undergraduate and graduate students from various academic disciplines. As part of its commitment to promoting women’s presence in the arts, the ensemble places special emphasis on works by female composers, while presenting a wide-ranging repertoire that spans from classical works to contemporary musical compositions. Since the choral program’s founding in 1905, the choir has performed at major regional and national conferences in the United States, such as TMEA, NCCO, and ACDA, as well as at international events.
