The Epigraphic Museum is participating in the events organized by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage to mark the August full moon (August 28, 2026) by hosting the following activities:
- Time: 7:30–8:30 p.m.: Guided tours of the permanent exhibition for small groups of visitors, led by the Museum’s archaeologists.

9:00 p.m.: Screening of Buster Keaton’s silent film The General, accompanied by piano and live electronics by pianist Stathis Anninos. The music of Stathis Anninos, one of the most multifaceted musicians of his generation, will create an original and dynamic soundtrack, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the film’s release, which is a masterpiece of silent cinema. This groundbreaking film redefined comedy and cinema, establishing a new standard of cinematic realism and technical excellence that continues to inspire to this day. The event will take place in the inner courtyard of the Epigraphic Museum.
The Museum will remain open to the public with free admission from 7:30 p.m. to midnight.
To participate in the guided tours and the event—as space is limited—reservations are required and can be made exclusively by phone from August 24 through August 27.
