The musical duet Boforia was created in the summer of 2023 in Crete. Yannis Linardakis on the Cretan lute and Avgerini Gatsis on piano and ney, having assimilated the sound from Greek tradition, folk music – and not only – they perform in a quite free way that leaves room for improvisation, adding or removing harmony while maintaining the primary lyrics and rhythm.

Tropical melodies converse unpredictably with western harmony.The ecstatic sound of the lute presses on the environment of the folk piano and the two musicians deconstruct the familiar forms and roles that characterize them in a fresh partnership that is constantly evolving.
