“The Walk” is a unique traveling art festival, starring a 3.5-meter-tall puppet of a 9-year-old refugee girl from Syria. Representing all displaced children, many separated from their families, “Little Amal” will travel over 8,000 kilometers; from the Syrian-Turkish border to the United Kingdom, looking for her mother.

From July 27 to November 2, 2021, artists in more than 65 villages, small towns and large cities will welcome “Little Amal”. At every stop throughout her journey, Little Amal will be welcomed with artistic and cultural activities, performances and events organized by members of the local communities. Every meeting with Amal aims to strengthen the ties with the refugee community, and perhaps to seek new ways of understanding concepts such as “community” and “home”.
