Chinese Musical Drama “The Myth of the White Snake • REMIX” will be performed on the stage of PALLAS Theater in Greece, as a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Greece and China

As the cool breeze drives away the summer heat, Athens ushered in a comfortable autumn. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Greece, the “Sino-Hellenic Performing Arts Alliance” initiated by overseas Chinese in Greece, with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Greece, will present a Chinese style musical drama “The Myth of the White Snake • REMIX”  to the local audience at the PALLAS Theater, located in the core area of Athens.

The Myth of the White Snake • REMIX” met the audience for the first time in Athens from June 11th to 13th this year. The three-day performance was widely praised by Greek audiences. The love story between the White Snake and Xu Xian not only reproduced the classics of traditional Chinese mythology on the stage of the Greek capital, but also wrote a legend that is intertwined with ancient Greek mythology. “The Myth of the White Snake” is one of the four major folk love legends in China. “The Myth of the White Snake • REMIX“, which appeared on the stage of Athens, boldly adapted the classic Chinese legend. Through delicate clues, the famous story of Asclepius and the snake in ancient Greek mythology was skillfully integrated with the Chinese story. At first glance, it is unbelievable, but it makes perfect sense while the story spreads out on the stage. Crossing mountains and seas, and passing national borders, the classic literary masterpieces of the two civilizations learn from each other and complement each other.

In the memorable year of the 50th Anniversary, the ” Sino-Hellenic Performing Arts Alliance” hopes to further promote the cultural exchanges between both nations, demonstrate the potential of Chinese communities in the mainstream cultural circle of Greece, and deepen the friendship between people from both countries.
