
The Municipality of Agia announces a change to the schedule of the 45th Cherry Festival in Metaxochori, due to the weather conditions forecast for June 12 in the area.

FRIDAY, JUNE 12
8:00 p.m. Lecture on “Digital Agriculture and Carbon Farming in Practice” by Ilias Platis, FarmB – Market Development Manager, at the Girls’ High School
8:30 p.m. Lecture on “Utilization of Cherry Byproducts” by Dr. Stavros Lalas, Professor, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Thessaly, at the Parthenagogio
SATURDAY, JUNE 13
7:30 p.m. Reception for dignitaries at the G.S.A. Presentation by Ms. Evgenia Liazis and Ms. Alexandra Mamouris, titled “The Archives Tell Stories About the Women of Agia”
8:30 p.m. Blessing of the Waters – Greetings – Speeches – Visit to the exhibitors’ booths
9:00 p.m. Guided tour of the Girls’ School. Exhibition – tribute to the Architectural Heritage of Metaxochori.
10:00 p.m. Musical evening in the village square
SUNDAY, JUNE 14
10:00 a.m. Painting workshop on the theme of cherries, for elementary school children, led by Maria Stamoglou, art teacher at the 2nd Elementary School of Agia, in the square
11:00 a.m. Taekwondo demonstration by the Agia Sports Club, in the square
12:00 p.m. Activities for children by the 1st Agia Scout Troop, in the square
1:00 p.m. Presentation of traditional dances by the adult dance groups of: Agia’s “M. Dallas” Dance Group, Gerakario Women’s Dance Group, and the “John the Baptist” Association of Eastern Dancers
