German sculptor Rita Habermann is coming to Hydra for an exhibition inspired by Greek mythology, entitled “Aegean Inspirations“, which will run from 6 to 30 April 2024, at the Historical Archives-Museum of Hydra.

Rita’s creations come from her heart, from her soul, from the surrounding land, from the people around her, from objects around her. She is able to transfer the image of her mind into clay with amazing detail and passion. Over the years she realized that Greece is an amazing place for sculpture and it’s no wonder why civilization has flourished here since ancient times. The wonderful light, the beauty of the land, the friendliness of the people produce a whole that provides the best background for an artist. Inspiration really comes more easily here in Greece than anywhere else.
As Rita Haberman says: “In Greece, I like the Light, it is strong and bright, it fills you with positive energy, it is the main source of my inspirations. The artist needs the Greek Light to create, as its purity composes an inner creative force.”
