The Hydra High School and the GSA/Historical Archive s – Museum of Hydra announce the end-of-school-year celebration, which will take place as part of the 2026 Miaoulia celebrations and will include the presentation of the cultural–educational program titled:

“From the Archives to Art – Andreas Miaoulis Through the Eyes of the Students…”.

The joint cultural program of the Hydra Junior High School and the 7th Peristeri Junior High School was carried out in close collaboration with the Hydra Historical Archives–Museum and the General State Archives–Hydra Archives (GSA). It represents a meaningful and creative collaboration between students from two schools with different social and geographical backgrounds—an island school and a school in an urban center—united by a shared focus on the history and culture of Hydra. The collaboration began with the study of authentic archival and museum documents that shed light on the historical figure and deeds of Admiral Andreas Miaoulis, their research-based documentation, and their incorporation into artistic creations.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., at the GSA/ Museum of Hydra venue,
and will consist of two parts:

Part A (Main Hall)

• Presentation of a digital portfolio of archival and museum materials by students from the Hydra Junior High School

• Presentation of an interactive digital map by the 7th Peristeri Junior High School, created based on the archival/museum artifacts from the project and visual artworks resulting from the inter-school collaboration

Part B (Rooftop)

• Theatrical performance (one-act play) by the 7th Peristeri Junior High School

• Live music and dance performances by students from both schools (songs, music, and dances inspired by the 1821 Revolution)

• Graduation ceremony for the 9th-grade students of the Hydra Junior High School

The presentation of student research and creative work in a significant cultural venue brings history to life through artifacts, collaboration, expression, and active participation.
