On Thursday 18 January, the memory of Saint Makarios the Egyptian, to whom the OAC has dedicated a chapel (Kathisma) on the rocks north of the Foundation, is commemorated.

On Thursday 18 January 2024, the Mass of the Great Vespers will be celebrated at 16:00 by His Eminence Bishop of Kissamos and Selinos Amfilochios.

On the morning of Friday 19 January 2024, the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the adjacent Holy Monastery of Gonia.

The WORD and ART programme, which the Academy has been developing for years on an international level, is based on a narrative by Saint Makarios with strong spiritual messages about human communication and the existence of man as ” Face to Face “. More than 350 works by artists from all continents have already been donated and are on display at the OAC. It is important in these difficult days as Greece and Europe, but also as humanity, to find again the true meaning of human relations based on our “face to face” society.
