This book ― on the occasion of the 200-year anniversary of the Greek Revolution ― comprises around twelve songs in each language: French, German, English, Italian and Russian. Thus, the reader acquires an idea of the literary and political interest by Europeans in the demotic poetry of modern Greeks in the framework of the movement of Philhellenism in the early 19th century. The book is adorned with images of paintings inspired by the Greek Revolution.
