From 4 to 7 April 2025, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC), in collaboration with the WOW Foundation and the British Council, presents for the third year the WOW – Women of the World festival, the world’s largest event for women, femininity and non-binary people. For the third year, WOW Athens attempts to address the most topical issues concerning the struggle for gender equality, both locally and internationally, and to give a platform to the voices and stories that inspire and give hope for a more just world.
Music is traditionally an integral part of the festival and the concert of Arooj Aftab (Monday 07 April at 21.00) – the first Pakistani artist to win a Grammy Award – stands out in this year’s line-up, combining Persian tradition with elements of jazz and electronic music. Furthermore, the popular singer of the local music scene Idra Kayne promises to stir up the audience with a concert (Saturday 05 April at 21.30) full of iconic songs by female performers who have made history. DJ sets and pop up concerts from 10.00 to 22.00, at the Agora of the SNFCC, complete the rich musical programme of the festival.
