On Sunday, August 30, 2026, the 52nd Aisxylia Festival 2026—which the Municipality of Elefsis has been organizing annually since 1975—will kick off with great success. Through October 3, the public will have the opportunity to attend selected events, theatrical performances, concerts featuring various genres of music, art exhibitions, and film screenings in a modern city that brings its own unique voice to the region’s cultural scene.
The events of this year’s Aisxylia Festival 2026 will take place, for the second time this year, at the former IRIS factory, on the Elefsis waterfront, which has successfully made its cultural debut and been transformed into a modern, versatile venue—a true gem for the city and a new gathering spot not only for Eleusis residents but also for its visitors. Distinctive features of the site include the chimney and the factory’s two oldest buildings, which have been designated as protected modern monuments, as they are representative examples of industrial architecture from the interwar period. Where industry once flourished, culture now thrives.
