On Thursday, November 24, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., in the ceremony hall of the University of Piraeus, took place the graduation ceremony of the graduates of the “Port Management & Coastal Economy” Master’s Program of the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus, for the academic year 2021- 2022.
At the ceremony, 20 graduates of the Program were sworn in and awarded degrees.
Greetings were addressed by the General Secretary of Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Investments of the Ministry of Shipping & Insular Policy, Mr. Evangelos Kyriazopoulos, the President of the Ports Regulatory Authority, Mr. 1999. Apostolos Papapostolou and the CEO of the Parnonas Development Organization, Mr. Marinos Beretsos.
The authorities of the Department were represented by the Dean of the School of Shipping and Industry, Professor Mr. Angelos Pantouvakis, the President of the Department of Maritime Studies, Professor Mr. Ioannis Theotokas and the Director of the Postgraduate Studies Program, Professor Mr. Konstantinos Chlomoudis. Professors Michael Sfakianakis and Michael Filippakis attended on behalf of the University’s Board of Directors. All of them wished the graduates a successful professional career, worthy of their efforts, dreams and aspirations. The oath of confession was read by the first ranked graduate, Mr. Filippos Pollatos, who studied in the Program with a scholarship from the PPA. The Director of the Master’s Program “Port Management & Coastal Economy”, Professor Mr. Konstantinos Chlomoudis, thanked the official guests for their presence and participation in the Graduation Ceremony of the graduates and pointed out that the Professors of the Program will continue to work for the service of the missions of the Program, the main one of which is the provision of a high level of cutting-edge education in the subject of ports and the coastal economy, with the ultimate goal for the graduates of the Postgraduate Studies Program to acquire the knowledge and skills required for executives in the Public and Private sectors in this new modern industry, of port services and the management of the possibilities that the maritime economy offers, thus contributing to their personal specialization and the development of businesses and organizations.
