The Department of Environmental Science at the School of Technology, University of Thessaly, invites interested parties to apply for the MSc Program entitled “Environmental Management” for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The objective of the Program in “Environmental Management” (Government Gazette B 3608/July 11, 2022) is to provide advanced scientific knowledge and technologies, knowledge of legislative frameworks and their application, and methodological approaches related to Environmental Sciences.

To be awarded the Degree, the following is required:

➢ Successful completion and passing of ten (10) required courses.

➢ The completion and successful defense of a master’s thesis.

Specialization in specific subject areas, depending on the candidates’ professional orientation and interests, is achieved through the selection of an appropriate thesis topic.

The minimum duration of study for the M.S. program is three (3) semesters for full-time students and six (6) semesters for part-time students. The Department of Environment possesses the necessary logistical infrastructure and provides all the modern educational resources required for conducting the courses and other activities of the M.S. program.

The courses of the M.S. program are taught on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at the Department of Environment’s headquarters in Larissa. Instruction is delivered in person, with 35% of the coursework conducted via distance learning.

The total tuition fees for the Master’s program amount to €2,500, including travel expenses for two field trips during the course of study. Pursuant to Article 86 of Law 4957/2022, students in the graduate program up to 30% of the total number of students admitted to the program, to be exempted from tuition fees for financial reasons.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, four (4) scholarships will be awarded, each worth €1,000, to four (4) students who successfully pass all their courses and achieve the highest grade point average.

2. Statement of interest (a brief description of the applicant’s academic and research interests, including the reasons why the applicant is interested in this particular master’s program).

3. A copy of a degree from a Greek higher education institution (university or technical college). In the case of graduates from foreign universities, a certificate of recognition from DIKATSA/DOATAP must be submitted (the academic recognition procedures of Article 304 of Law 4957/2022 apply). Applicants who have completed their course of study and are only awaiting the graduation ceremony to receive their degree must submit a relevant certificate from the Department accompanied by a detailed transcript and degree grade. Candidates who are in the process of earning their degree must submit a detailed transcript showing the number of courses for which grades are pending.

4. Transcript of undergraduate grades.

5.  Master degrees (if available).

6. Previous work experience (if any).

7. Recognized diplomas or certificates of English language proficiency. Language proficiency certificates accepted by ASEP at level B2 or higher are accepted. Holders of a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a foreign university, in the English language, are exempt from this requirement.

8. Certificate of Computer Proficiency.

9. Two (2) reference letters.
