Four distinguished musicians—pianist Dora Bakopoulou, violinist Nikos Mandylas, violinist Krystalia Gaitanou, and cellist Christoforos Mirosnikov – join forces for a journey through four centuries of musical expression, from the 17th to the 20th century, at the B&E Goulandris Foundation Amphitheater on Friday, January 30, at 8:30 p.m.

The concert program “4 Voices – 4 Centuries” opens with the brilliant clarity of Bach’s Suite for Cello No. 3, representing the architectural elegance of the Baroque era, and continues with Handel’s Passacaglia as rendered by Halvorsen, a late Romantic ode to the grandeur of the Baroque that bridges the past with the present.

The 19th century is heard through two contrasting voices: Schubert’s Andantino from his last piano sonata, which offers the inner lyricism of the classical-early romantic period, and Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 1, a work of high Romanticism where personal expression and ensemble dialogue meet in full bloom. Together, these four works highlight how composers across four centuries explored structure, emotion, and expressive individuality, uniting four different voices into a single, exciting arc.
