On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Nikos Poulantzas Institute is organizing an open event-dialogue entitled “Until all Women are heard.”
The event responds to the increased need for public debate on tackling gender-based violence, which remains at high levels, even putting women’s lives at risk. At the same time, it poses a serious threat to democracy and the rule of law, which is unable to protect its female citizens from the multiple manifestations of gender-based violence. This year’s event emphasizes the intersection of experiences, scientific data, and collective resistance, approaching the phenomenon from the perspective of prevention, support, visibility, institutional intervention, and resistance.
LAUNCH WITH MINI DOCUMENTARY – THE VOICE OF WOMEN
The evening will open with the screening of a mini-documentary produced by the Nikos Poulantzas Institute, which gives a voice to women who have experienced gender-based violence. Through interviews and testimonies, the documentary captures the scope and impact of the phenomenon, the unspoken experiences, and the demands for justice, protection, and recognition. The screening aims to become a point of reference in public debate, as a conduit for visibility in the collective experience.

TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED
The event is structured around three main themes:
- The extent of domestic violence in times of crisis (financial, health, energy) and the range of its consequences for victims.
- Modern support structures and prevention and protection interventions, institutional deficits, and good international practices.
- The personal and collective experiences of women, which shed light in their own way on the dimensions of gender-based violence.
