An iconic evening inspired by Greek Antiquity with the title Cycladic Gala, Glamor in Antiquity was organized by the Museum of Cycladic Art on Monday, November 18 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York

The aim was to support the purposes and activities of the Museum of Cycladic Art, in view of 2026, when it will celebrate its 40th anniversary. Τhis is a milestone in the Museum’s history that will mark a new era, with outstanding changes at all levels.

370 well-known guests from Greece and abroad, from the fields of arts, fashion and business and sponsors, donors and supporters of the Museum, were present. Chairperson of the event was Dr. Albert Bourla, Chairman and CEO of Pfizer Inc., Co-Chair Katherine Embiricos and Benefactors Navios Maritime Partners LP, Theodore & Stavros Niarchos and George Petrocheilos & Diamantis Xylas.

The evening took place in The Temple of Dendur at The Met, with main hosts Sandra Marinopoulou, President and CEO of the Museum of Cycladic Art, Titina Patera, Vice President, the Museum’s Board of Directors and the CAF (Cycladic Art Foundation) Board of Directors. The Master of Ceremonies of the evening was Stellene Volandes, Editor-in-Chief of Town & Country, Writer & Editor-in-Chief of Elle Decor.

The evening highlight was the two dance performances by the legendary American dance group Martha Graham Dance Company, the solo EKSTASIS and the duet The Saraband from dark Meadow. Martha Graham was inspired by classical Greek culture and Cycladic art.
