A Memorandum of Cooperation, aimed at developing cooperation in the fields of education, research and innovation was signed on Friday, 20 September 2024, between the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Cyprus (UCY) and the Faculty of Fine Arts and Archaeology of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of the University of Cyprus by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Associate Professor Petros Papapolyviou and on behalf of Zhejiang University, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Archaeology, Professor Chen Hong. The signing ceremony of the MoU was attended by the Vice Rector of International Relations, Finance and Administration, Professor Ioannis Yapitzakis, as well as academics and administrative staff of the Faculty of Philosophy, the Department of International Relations and the Confucius Institute of the University of China. On behalf of Zhejiang University, the Vice-Chairman of the Council of the University and a nine-member delegation of academic and administrative staff as well as the Political Affairs Counselor of the Embassy of China in Cyprus were present.

Under the MoU, the two parties will cooperate to undertake joint research activities, as well as the exchange of scientific staff for teaching and research purposes, and the exchange of students in the context of their studies.

Zhejiang University, in the framework of developing its cooperation with the PC, donated books entitled “The Complete Works of Paintings of the Qing Dynasty” from the collection “The Complete Works of Ancient Chinses Paintings Series”. The donation is particularly important to the PC as it is one of the most important documents of ancient Chinese paintings in books.
