This year’s main performance of the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras entitled “The Future of Yesterday” will take place on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 September at 9.00 in the evening in a specially designed space in the “Ichthioskala” multi-purpose hall.

The performance – scheduled to take place on 11 and 12 September but postponed due to adverse weather conditions – involves more than 500 young and old dancers, who will present dances and events from all over Greece for two days. Each day 8 regions of the country will be presented.

Much emphasis will also be placed on dances from Cyprus as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion.

This year’s event will be accompanied by live music from an orchestra with great musicians of our folk tradition under the direction of Nikos Milas.

The orchestra consists of: Nikos Milas – violin, Panos Skouteris – clarinet – bagpipe – tambourine, Angeliki Pardalis – singing – santouri, Kostas Stephanopoulos – singing – accordion, Panagiotis Stathakis – lute, Alexandros Rizopoulos – percussion.

The costume designers are Anastasia Angelakopoulou, Ziakou Ioanna, Kosmatou Kostatou. Music Supervision: Nikos Milas, General Supervision: Christos Giannopoulos.

Entrance to the performances is free of charge
