The Municipality of Athens, honoring the memory of the prominent Simian writer and donor, Vassilis Moskovis, announces, through the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA), The competition for the “Vassilis Moskovis Award 2023” addressed to authors of historical, folklore, linguistic and other works that refer to the history and culture of the Dodecanese (as a whole or of a single island).
The competition is open to all those who have produced a study/work on the History and Culture of the Dodecanese, which have been published in the last three years, in order to be judged by the relevant Jury.
The prize will be accompanied by a cash prize of €1,000 and the committee may award up to two honorary commendations.
The projects can be submitted until Friday 14 June 2024 to the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens (50 Akadimias Street, 106 79 Athens), Department of Administrative Support (Protocol), to the Directorate of Culture / Department of Museums, Collections and Cultural Sites with the indication “For the Vassilis Moskovis Award 2023” or sent to the above address by post.

The Jury Committee is comprised of:
- Minas Αl. Alexiadis– Professor Emeritus of Folklore of the NKUA.
- Ioanna Gennimata– Deputy Member of the Board of Directors of the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Municipality of Athens (O.P.A.N.D.A.) and Municipal Councillor of the Municipality of Athens.
- Maria Panagiotopoulou-Regular Member of the Board of Directors of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens (O.P.A.N.D.A.).
- Nikolaos Giannakopoulos –Regular Member of the Board of Directors of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens (O.P.A.A.N.D.A.)
- Emmanuel Perselis– Professor Emeritus of Theology of the NKUA.
The President of the Union of Symians ” O Panormitis ” is appointed as an associate member.
