The opening of the “Painting the Word” exhibition, which includes priceless engraving treasures, took place on the evening of Friday, October 20, at the Municipal Art Gallery of Patras, in the presence of many friends of artists.

The exhibition will be hosted until Wednesday, December 27, 2023 and is organized by the Municipal Art Gallery of Patras in collaboration with the Stratis Eleftheriadis-Tériade Museum-Library.

At the opening ceremony on behalf of the Municipal Authority, Deputy Mayor Nikos Aspragathos spoke, who referred to the work that has been done in recent years in culture and especially in the field of visual arts by the Municipality of Patras and the Cultural Organization.

On behalf of the Stratis Eleftheriadis-Tériade Museum-Library, its Director Konstantinos Maniatopoulos, the president of the Board of Directors of the Museum Lila de Chaves-Chronopoulos and the curator of the exhibition Iris Kritikou spoke. The president of the Cultural Organization, Katerina Geropanagioti, was represented by the member of the Board of Directors, Rena Skarlatou.

The opening was attended by the president of the non-profit organization “Carnival of Patras” Ira Kouri, the president of the Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre Petros Vais, the members of the advisory committee (Elli Barbagianni, Geraldine Georges, Anna Karatza), the honorary consul of France, Christina Deftereou, the president of the Society of Achaean Studies and the Topalis Foundation, Vangelis Politis,  and the manager of the cube gallery Liana Zoza.

The Municipal Art Gallery of Patras, as part of the activities it implements, organizes organized tours of clubs and schools.
