This year the Patras International Festival will walk the streets of jazz for four days, with the jazz & more section being another important milestone in the history of the institution.

The reference point is the atrium of the Old Municipal Hospital, which will host events with international participants from Cuba, Italy, and Jordan.

The curtain will be raised on the concerts by will be opened at 9.30 p.m. on Friday 26 May by Georgios Tsolis and friends. The band includes Georgios Tsolis / piano ( Greece ) Jorge Vistel / Trumpet (Cuba), Francesco Angiuli / Double Bass (Italy), and Mauro Beggio / Drums (Italy).

On Saturday 27 May at the same time, the baton will be passed to Vasilis Kostas &LaythSidiq Duo.  Two great virtuoso musicians and creators of international fame, the lutist Vasilis Kostas, nominated for Grammy 2023, and the Jordanian violinist LaythSidiq will present their new project “STEPS”, which brings together the musical worlds of Greek traditional, Arabic, and contemporary improvisation.

Sunday 28 May will also be full of jazz as the YiorgosFakanas Group will be on the atrium stage at 9.30 pm, consisting of YiorgosFakanas, (bass), TakisPaterelis (saxes), Sammy Amiris (piano) and MeniosPasialis (drums).

The Jazz & More section will conclude on Monday 29 May with the Jazz Workshop by the Municipal Conservatory of Patras. The workshop will take place in the atrium of the old municipal hospital at 9.30 in the evening.
