Yiannis Fokas was born in Greece (1951). He studied Painting at the Αthens School of Fine Arts. After he was awarded a National Scholarship, he continued his studies at the ‘’Ecole des Beaux- Arts’’ (E.N.S.B.A.) in Paris, where he lived and worked until 1992. During 1995-2018, he was Professor at the School of
Fine Arts, (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and elected President of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts (2001- 2005). He has been exhibiting internationally and his artworks can be found in public and private collections and museums (Alexandia Biennale Award 1987, Εuropean Cultural Center of
Delphi, Hellenic Parliament, Αthens Municipal Art Gallery, MOMus, George Economou Collection etc.)
