From 1 to 3 April 2023 the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) presents the first WOW – Women of the World Festival in Greece.  The festival is held in partnership with the WOW Foundation, the world’s largest event dedicated to women, girls and non-binary people.

WOW Athens, which in Greece is presented in collaboration with the British Council and with the support of the British Embassy in Athens, includes talks with guests from Greece and abroad, discussions, exhibitions, workshops, mentoring sessions, educational programs, concerts, film screenings and much more, in a major event that aims to empower women and femininities to face the obstacles and inequalities they encounter every day, but also to celebrate the victories that have been achieved so far by highlighting faces and stories that inspire.

The festival focuses on the Greek reality today, but at the same time it focuses on the common issues and challenges that concern the whole world.

Within the framework of the WOW Athens Festival, two films by women creators will be screened: the first is the topical documentary “The Janes” by American women Tia Lessin and Emma Pildes and the second, the fiction film “listen to me” by Greek woman Maria Douza.
