The collaborative, artistic space and the Magma team welcome the exhibition “adult games” with works by contemporary artists from Thessaloniki and Athens from 15 to 22 December 2022 (opening: Thursday 15 December, 20:00, Opening Days & hours of the space: D-S 18:00 – 22:00, K 12:00 – 16:00).

In the contemporary reality of constant performance, unlimited “I can” and self-effacement, the subjects quickly succumb to the meticulously organized game of the asymmetric patriarchal capitalist system, that of the illusion of freedom. The very concept of the game is radically overturned with the transition to adulthood, leaving behind the traces of innocence that accompanied it. In the group exhibition ‘coming of age Games’ the six artists intervene in the Magma/ Commonspace with a Foucault anti-authoritarian practice. In a condition of organized multiplicity and horizontal conjunctions, a common and unchanging concern was the emergence of the above problems and the need to recover the lost childhood in an attempt to distance itself finally from the grid of oppressions and powers. The game returns through a process of critical artistic appropriation, resulting from six disparate artistic deposits that challenge the public to a process of questioning and discovering the limits inherent in its alleged state of freedom in contemporary Greek reality.
