On the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the Asia Minor Campaign, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation organizes a series of online lectures-tours about Asia Minor from Antiquity to 1922. Sites with a history of centuries, a civilization with unique characteristics, a land of osmosis, fusion and epic conflicts are revealed through the imagery we have from travellers in the past and presented on the webpage Travelogues.

Our guides on this journey in time and space are historians Ioli Viggopoulou and Dimitris Loupis. The series of lectures will take place from January to June, and every month we will “visit” and examine one area of Asia Minor over two online meetings. The first will cover selected remains from Greek and Roman Antiquity, while the second will “travel” to the Byzantine period up to 1922, giving the participants the chance to comprehend the historical and cultural development in Asia Minor, with an emphasis on the Greek population and the presence of Greek communities in Asia Minor.
