On Wednesday 25 June at 21:00, in the special area of the Museum of Traditional Instruments “Thirathen”, music becomes a bridge of cultures that unites the music of Crete with the early rebetika of America, in a journey where sounds meet the magic of tradition.

The programme will contain two sections, the first of which will take us on a journey to traditional songs that evoke memories and emotions from Chania to Sitia, while the evening will be filled with sounds and songs recorded by Greek immigrants in America, which are a sample of early rebetika with Charilaos Piperakis as their main exponent.

A Wednesday with traditional melodies from the island of Crete and beyond with the lyre, the lute and the Cretan tamboura as the main instruments.
