Kostis Avyssinos meets Vangelis Vardakis at the Thirathen Museum on Wednesday 05.02.2025 at 20:30.

Two accomplished, popular instrumentalists, inspired by the roots of traditional Cretan music and carrying memories, experiences, sounds and colours from the music of the company and the feasts, set up a musical performance, performing in their own special way beloved Cretan tunes.

Vangelis Vardakis, a violin virtuoso with a distinguished career in the field of traditional music of Crete, performs with great sensitivity, aesthetics and accuracy the traditional tunes of Crete, especially of Eastern Crete, his place of origin.

In this performance he meets an ideally suited musical companion, Kostis Avyssinos, a virtuoso on mandolin, lute and bulgari, son of the great violinist George Avyssinos and his musical partner for many decades, but also a distinguished artist for his personal career.
