The Department of Classical Studies of the Department of Philology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Department of Comparative Literature of Harvard University, organize the 17th International Conference “Trends in Classics“, from Thursday 1/6 to Saturday 3/6/2023, at the KEDEA of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The theme of the conference is the concept of “parenthesis” in the context of the reception of antiquity in literature, philosophy and art. According to the organizers, “because the topic is multifaceted and interdisciplinary, more than 25 scholars from the fields of classical studies, philosophy, aesthetics, modern and comparative literature and cultural studies will deal with all aspects of the ‘parenthetical’ reception of antiquity, both theoretically and in specific literary texts or other artistic media”.

The official language of the conference is English. The proceedings are open to the public and certificates of attendance will be issued.
