The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation announces the organization of a series of actions aimed at raising awareness, educating and informing about the particularly important issue of child abuse.

With this issue becoming increasingly widespread, and more cases of violence being exposed lately, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation intends to assist in informing and educating the public, students, teachers and parents, through actions and programs aimed at the educational community and to all those involved in the upbringing of children. In this framework, on the one hand, the aim is to examine whether children are safe in the spaces in which they move, play and learn, and on the other hand, how to inform and educate teachers, parents, and anyone involved, on this crucial issue. The purpose of the actions will be a general, societal shift in the perceptions that cause these phenomena, and to facilitate the victims to speak openly about their experiences.

In this important initiative, valuable partners will be:

Mr. George Nikolaidis, Psychiatrist, MD, MA, MSc, PhD, Director in the Department of Mental Health and Social Welfare of the Institute of Child Health

Ms. Anastasia Koumoula, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, President of the Non-Profit Company for the Mental Health of Children and Adolescents

Mr. George Moschos, Lawyer, Child Rights Expert (Children’s Ombudsman, July 2003 – January 2018)

Ms. Eva Kogiannaki, Lawyer

Detailed information about the pilot program will be available at the beginning of the new academic year.
