Philosophical questions such as “what is the mind?”, “what is its nature?” and “is the soul non-physical and does it survive the death of the body or is the mind just the brain?” will be answered in the lecture of the Zineion Free University in Larnaca that will take place on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Cultural Centre “Famagusta” in Larnaca, of the House of Arts and Letters.

The speaker will be Mr. Savvas Ioannou, Specialist Teaching Scientist, Department of Social and Political Sciences, University of Cyprus. This interesting lecture entitled: “What is the mind? Dualism and physicalism” attempts to delve into the philosophy of mind, presenting two of his metaphysical theories, dualism and physicalism, as well as arguments for and against these theories. It will also seek to analyse the various emotions, desires and beliefs through the psychological world of the human mind.

The moderator of this lecture will be Assistant Professor Christos Kyriakou of the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus.
