The Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Apostolos Apostolidis, met with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of Cyprus, Mrs. Maria Panayiotou, on Friday 2 February 2024, at the Rector’s Office
The meeting was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Polykarpou, the President of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Alexandros Dimitrakopoulos, the President of the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Stefanos Koundouras, the President of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Paschalis Fortomaris and the Coordinator of the Agreement, Assistant Professor P. Professor George Vatzias.
During the meeting, which was held in an excellent atmosphere, the renewal of the Agreement of Scientific Cooperation between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of Cyprus was signed and the prospects of strengthening cooperation between the two institutions were discussed. The Agreement provides, inter alia, for scientific mobility for research and consultancy purposes.
The Scientific Cooperation Agreement was first signed between the two institutions in 1996 and has now been renewed for another five years.
