All developments, innovation, cutting-edge topics and new research results in Condensed Matter and Materials Science will be presented at the 37th Panhellenic Conference on Solid State Physics and Materials Science organized by the Department of Physics of AUTH, from Sunday 17 to Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

More than 250 Greek and foreign scientists from all over the world, coming from the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering and Materials Science, are participating in the work of the Conference. 255 scientific papers will be presented at the Conference. The international character of the Conference is highlighted by the participation of 105 foreign institutions in the submitted papers.
“The science of Condensed Matter and Materials is firmly at the forefront of scientific discoveries that contribute to technological progress and the needs of productive industries and society. The world of Materials is all around us, from everyone’s everyday life to the greatest technological achievements” say the organizers.

As part of the Conference, a parallel educational event will be held on Sunday, September 17, on the subject of Electronic Nanoscopy, its modern developments and its possibilities for the characterization of materials.
Observing the nanoworld even down to the scale of atoms using large electron microscopes offers impressive images of the interior of matter and is extremely important for modern technology. The event is co-organized with the Hellenic Nanoscopy Network.
On the last day of the Conference, Wednesday, September 20, there will be a special session on open innovation and networking with the participation of research associations, companies and laboratory networks of the country.
The multitude of thematic sections that will be discussed at the Conference highlights the scope of the sector’s interdisciplinary research and includes: “Functional Materials and Nanotechnology”, “Materials for energy applications and sustainable development”, “Nanoscopy, nanostructure and nanomechanics”, “Micro and nano electronics, optoelectronics and photonics”, “Low-dimensional and quantum Materials”, “Semiconductors”, “Magnetic Materials”, “Metals”, “Polymers”, “Composite Materials”, “Biomaterials”, “Pharmaceuticals”, “Natural Materials”, “ Materials Development and Synthesis’ and ‘Materials Computational Science’.
According to the organizers, “The Panhellenic Conference on Solid State Physics and Materials Science is a practical proof of the dedication of the Greek academic and research community to the pursuit of interdisciplinary knowledge, discovery, and cooperation on the road to achieving innovation”.
The Conference is under the auspices of the School of Applied Sciences of the AUTH and the Hellenic Society for Science and Technology of Condensed Matter.
The official language of the Conference is English.
