The Municipality of Athens and the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Municipality of Athens OPANDA organize the exhibition The Return of Democracy. July 24, 1974 of the only photojournalist who recorded the invasion of the tank at the Polytechnic School, Aristotelis Sarrikostas, at the “Melina” Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, on Thursday, July 22 at 18:00

The photography exhibition of Aristotelis Sarrikostas includes more than 150 documentary photographs from the period 1963-1974, such as snapshots of the royal family, the demonstrations, the 7-year junta of the Colonels, the group trials, the deportations, the Law School, the Polytechnic, the return of Konstantinos Karamanlis from Paris and the establishment of democracy in our country.

Exhibition duration: 22 – 28 July 2021

Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday 11:00 – 19:00, Saturday – Sunday 10:00 – 15:00, Monday closed.
